I need to report an accident

If you are stranded by the side of the road they will arrange for the vehicle to be collected irrespective of the time of day you are calling and make arrangements for you to be safely returned home. For peace of mind, our recovery agents will regularly notify you exactly when they expect to arrive, the name of the driver and the name of the recovery operator. 

Should I call the police?

If you have had a car accident, you must report this to the police within 24 hours if: 

  • someone was injured 
  • an animal in another vehicle or running across the road is injured 
  • someone else's property was damaged 
  • a bollard, street lamp or other item of street furniture is damaged 

What happens if the accident was MY fault?

Comprehensive cover - we will either arrange for your car to be repaired or we will settle your claim as specified in your policy. We will also pay for any loss, damage or injury to anyone else involved in the accident .  

Third party, fire and theft cover - we will only pay for loss, damage or injury to the other people involved in the accident.

What happens if the accident was NOT MY fault?

Comprehensive cover- we will either arrange for your car to be repaired or we will settle your claim as specified in your policy. If we are able to recover our costs from the person at fault, the claim will not affect your No Claims Discount.

Third party fire and theft cover - you are not covered for any other damage so we would not repair your car.
